My name is Axel Setzer, I live in Cologne (Germany) and this blog is simply about my eclectic view of the world around me

Gear

In terms of the 35 mm format and since the analog times -

I'm on the nikonian side of the force :-)) -

and have got a F3HP. But finally with the D2X, Nikon produced the first reasonable DSLR, and in 2005 I assumed the duty (hey, it was expensive!) and pleasure (and hey, this camera is great!), and bought one.

Apart from the use of different lenses, I want to highlight the lense, I've fallen in love with:
the AF Nikkor 50 mm 1:1,8D.
It's cheap (only around 120 Euros, here in Germany) and cheap-looking, but I was astounded about its optical performance. It's really sharp.
Furthermore, because of the smaller sensor format on the D2X, it has a equivalent focal length of 75 mm.
Although the use of zoom lenses is more practical and comfortable, I love to deal with the conditions and capabilities of prime lenses.
